Kabul: 2 Dead, 11 injured in Suicide bomb blast outside Russian Embassy

According to police, a suicide bomber who set up explosives close to the Russian Embassy’s entry in Kabul on Monday left two persons dead and 11 injured. They said that the attacker was shot dead by armed guards as he neared the gate.

According to Mawlawi Sabir, the head of the police district where the attack took place, “the suicide attacker before reaching the target, was recognised and shot by Russian embassy (Taliban) guards… there is no information about casualties yet.”

An explosion at a mosque in the Afghan province of Herat earlier this month left more than 23 people injured. While people were praying on Friday around noon, a bomb went off at the Guzargah Mosque.

Mahmoud Rasooli, the police spokesman in Herat, reported that Imam Mujib Rahman Ansari was slain together with some of his guards and bystanders while they were heading to the mosque.
