As of one hour ago, UN member countries had pledged $592 million (Rs130 billion) to help flood victims in Pakistan, according to Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

According to a PPP declaration made on Tuesday, the United Nations issued a quick appeal for $160 million to Pakistan at the request of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, to which the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank also responded favorably.

The PPP statement also noted the encouraging responses from the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the Red Crescent, and the Red Cross to the foreign minister’s request. China, Turkey, the United States, Kuwait, the United Kingdom, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates have all pledged quick assistance.
