Russia holds Ukraine responsible for killing of Darya Dugina, daughter of a close aid to Putin

In a statement issued today, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said the “crime was prepared and committed by Ukrainian special services”.

Russia has held Ukraine responsible for killing of Darya Dugina in a car bomb blast last week. Russia said Ukrainian “special services” carried out a car bombing that killed Darya Dugina, the daughter of an influential Russian ultra-nationalist Alexander Dugin, who backed Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak called the accusation a “propaganda”.

Dugina, a 29-year-old commentator with a Russian TV channel, died on Saturday when a remotely-controlled explosive device planted in her Toyota Land Cruiser blew up, killing her on the outskirts of Moscow, authorities said.

Alexander Dugin, father of Darya, switched cars with his daughter shortly before the blast.

Dugin — a philosopher, writer and political theorist dubbed as “Putin’s brain” — is believed by some to have been the intended target.

In a statement issued today, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said the “crime was prepared and committed by Ukrainian special services”.
