In a terrorist case, Imran is granted a three-day pre-arrest bail

Islamabad: PTI head Imran Khan was granted pre-arrest bail by the Islamabad High Court on Monday after being booked under Section 7 (punishment for acts of terrorism) of the Anti-Terrorism Act for making threats against Islamabad police officers and a female magistrate during Saturday’s rally.

The division bench, which was presided over by acting chief justice Aamir Farooq, decided in favour of granting Imran’s request for pre-arrest release.

According to the plea filed by party lawyers Babar Awan and Faisal Chaudhry, “a terrorist case was registered against PTI chairman [Imran Khan] yesterday, yet the petitioner has no past criminal record.”

They asked the judge to approve the bail application and said they were prepared to cooperate with investigators.

The registrar’s office makes an objection.

According to reports, the registrar office has submitted three objections to Imran Khan, the leader of the PTI, applying for pre-arrest bail.

They said Imran had not completed his biometrics and questioned why the PTI leader chose to seek the high court rather than the Anti-Terrorism Court.
