Pakistan experiences minor reduction in COVID-19 positive ratio

Friday morning data from the National Institute of Health in Islamabad (NIH) showed that the proportion of people in Pakistan who tested positive for coronavirus had decreased slightly, but that another person had died from the disease.

The COVID-19 positive rate in Pakistan decreased from 3.65% yesterday to 3.35% today, according to the most recent data available (Friday).

The death toll in the country reached its highest point in the past 20 days on Thursday, with nine people losing their lives.

Testing on 20,678 samples in the last 24 hours revealed 693 new instances of COVID-19 infections, bringing the overall number of cases in Pakistan to 1,553,325.

Currently, 177 persons infected with the virus are being cared for in intensive care facilities.
