Pakistan has more COVID-19 cases, and virus kills seven more people

Pakistan saw a slight rise in new COVID-19 cases, and the virus killed seven more people in the last 24 hours, according to data from the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Islamabad.

Based on data from the NIH, 23,035 diagnostic tests were done in the last 24 hours, and 679 of them were positive.

NIH statistics, on the other hand, show that only 2.95 percent of people in the country were positive in the last 24 hours.

The data also showed that the COVID-19 pandemic killed seven more people in the country in just one day, bringing the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic to 30,462.

With a small rise in new cases, the NIH reports that 166 COVID-19 patients are still being treated in intensive care units (ICU) at different hospitals across the country.
