NCOC recommends wearing masks as COVID instances rise

In the previous 24 hours, 234 new instances of Covid-19 were recorded in Karachi, accounting for more than half of all existing Covid-19 cases. The city has a positivity index of 22.65%.

Domestic flights now require masks because of an uptick in Covid-19 cases, according to a statement from the aviation agency.

Earlier in the day, Karachi reported a 21% increase in its positivity ratio, compared to a national rate of 2.8%.

Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) said late Sunday that mask use will be required on all domestic flights beginning immediately.

Few cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in recent months, which led to most precautions being abolished.

In the previous 24 hours, 234 new instances of Covid-19 were recorded in Karachi, accounting for more than half of all existing Covid-19 cases. The city has a positivity index of 22.65%.

According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), at least 382 new illnesses have been detected in the last 24 hours. Covid-19 killed two individuals.

As the number of cases of Covid-19 rises in major cities, the National Command and Operation Centre has recommended that domestic travellers using planes, trains, and other modes of public transportation wear face masks.

A month before, there were 79 positive cases and no deaths, with a positivity ratio of 0.54 percent. As of this writing, 85 percent of Pakistanis are protected against the virus, according to the National Institutes of Health.
