Israel offers UAE security and intelligence assistance, After The Devastating Houthi Strike

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett criticised the “terrorist drone attack” on Twitter.

According to a letter issued on Tuesday by Israel’s PM, Israel has offered the United Arab Emirates security and intelligence help in the aftermath of a fatal drone strike by Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi militia.

Three people were killed, and it injured six others when three tankers exploded in Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital, on Monday. According to a Houthi military official, the organisation launched the strike using “a big number” of drones and five ballistic missiles.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett criticised the “terrorist drone attack” on Twitter.

His spokesperson included a copy of a sympathy letter he wrote to the UAE’s de facto ruler, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, on Monday.

Bennett emphasised Israel stands ready to provide UAE with security and intelligence support to assist them in protecting their people against similar assaults. He said that he has directed the Israeli security network to help their colleagues in the UAE if the UAE government is interested.

In 2020, the UAE and Bahrain signed normalisation accords with Israel mediated by the US at the White House. The two Gulf countries, as well as Israel, are concerned about Iran and its regional allies.

Bennett wrote to Sheikh Mohammed, that Israel is dedicated to cooperating closely with them in the ongoing war against extremist elements in the region. He assured them that Israel will continue to collaborate with UAE to defeat their mutual rivals.

Bennett and Sheikh Mohammed met for the first time in public in December of last year in Abu Dhabi.
