Wedding bells: Zara Tareen set to marry ‘Star Trek’ star Farhan Tahir

Congratulations are in order for actor Zara Tareen, who is preparing to marry American-Pakistani actor Farhan Tahir.

In a thread of photos shared by younger sister Hira Tareen, Zara was spotted all dolled up in her Mehndi outfit as she smiled ear to ear with husband-to-be.

Zara kept her look simple for the special event, slipping into a claret red lehenga for her special day. Farhan on the other hand wore a boski Kameez Shalwar with a shawl.

Farhan Tahir is famous known for essaying the role of Captian Robau in Star Trek and Raza in Iron Man.

Faran Haroon Tahir was born in Los Angeles, California while his parents were studying acting and directing at UCLA Theatre Department. He comes from a theatre family well-known in Pakistan and India.

Both his parents are actors, directors and writers in Pakistan. Faran moved back to Los Angeles, California in 1980, when he was 17 years old. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and his graduate degree from the Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University. He has been nominated and has won many awards for his work in theatre and film.

His parents were actor Naeem Tahir and radio host Yasmeen Tahir and grandparents were writers Imtiaz Ali Taj and Hijab Imtiaz Ali. Tahir went on to graduate from theatre programs at the University of California, Berkeley and the Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University.

Tahir made his television debut as a desk clerk on Midnight Caller in 1989. He made his film debut as Nathoo in Disney’s 1994 live-action version of The Jungle Book. He has gone on to star in a variety of roles, such as Raza in Iron Man (2008), Captain Robau in Star Trek (2009), and President Patel in Elysium (2013). In 2016, he played the titular role of Othello in a production by the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C.
