ISLAMABAD: Showbiz star Shaista Lodhi will soon be hosting a morning show on PTV at Home TV. Name of the PTV’s programme is “Morning at Home”.
The actor will be replacing actor Nadia Khan as the show’s new host. Shaista said her intentions as host are to give hope, motivation, and different perspectives on the happenings of life.
She said she has a lot of respect for Khan’s viewers who followed the show. “I completely agree with and respect Nadia Khan’s following,” she said. “I wish I could perform like Nadia Khan, [she’s] so witty and extempore.” I hope I do not disappoint the viewers, she said.
Lodhi highlighted how television morning shows are on the decline in Pakistan, Dawn.com reported today.
“Channels aren’t doing more morning shows because it is risky,” she said. “They get better ratings from broadcasting a drama. However, one must not forget that viewers want a direct connection [with the show] as well, [something] only a live show can bring to the audience [as opposed to] pre-recorded shows.”
Lodhi is best known for her morning shows. She previously hosted Geo TV’s popular morning show Utho Jago Pakistan which was cancelled in 2014. She recently made an appearance on actor Nida Yasir’s show Good Morning Pakistan as a guest.
