Iran’s armed forces warned they would destroy US-linked oil and energy infrastructure after President Donald Trump announced strikes on Kharg Island.
The Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said facilities belonging to firms cooperating with the United States would “immediately be destroyed and turned into ashes” if Iran’s energy hubs were attacked.
Trump had previously claimed that US airstrikes had obliterated military targets on Kharg Island.
He also threatened to target the island’s oil infrastructure if Iran did not allow the safe passage of ships through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Kharg Island, located about 30 kilometers off Iran’s mainland, handles roughly 90 percent of the country’s crude exports.
The strikes and ongoing conflict have disrupted maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and sent oil prices soaring globally.
US President Trump stated that Iran was “totally defeated” but sought a deal he would not accept.
He added that Washington would soon escort tankers through the Strait of Hormuz to restore oil exports amid rising energy prices.
Meanwhile, Iran launched drone and missile attacks on Israel and Gulf nations in retaliation for continued US strikes.
Several top Iranian officials participated in a pro-government rally in Tehran, displaying banners calling for action against America and Israel.
Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is reportedly wounded and likely disfigured, according to US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Hegseth questioned Khamenei’s ability to govern after nearly two weeks of US and Israeli attacks on Iran.
Explosions were also reported in Baghdad after strikes targeted Iran-backed group Kataeb Hezbollah, killing two members, including a key figure.
Shortly after, a drone struck the US embassy in Baghdad, with smoke rising from the complex as security sources confirmed the attack.
Israel identified missiles launched by Iran early Saturday and carried out intercept operations, while air raid sirens sent people into shelters.
An Israeli strike on a healthcare center in southern Lebanon killed 12 medical personnel, marking the second attack on health facilities in a few hours.
Hezbollah’s leader Naim Qassem stated that the group is ready for a prolonged confrontation with Israel.
Lebanon has become involved in the conflict after Tehran-backed militants attacked Israel in response to US-Israeli strikes killing Iran’s former Supreme Leader.
The US is reinforcing its Middle East deployment with an amphibious assault ship and 2,500 Marines, preparing for extended regional operations.
Oil prices remain above $100 per barrel as markets worry about prolonged disruption and higher global inflation.
Additionally, the US State Department offered a $10 million reward for information on Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and other top officials.
Missiles launched at Qatar were intercepted, with authorities evacuating key areas in Doha as a precaution.
Since February 28, Israel has carried out approximately 7,600 strikes across Iran and 1,100 in Lebanon, escalating the joint US-Israel military campaign.
Smoke was seen rising near Tel Aviv after missile warnings, while Formula One races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia were canceled or rescheduled due to the conflict.
