Pakistani singer Aima Baig celebrated her 31st birthday with a small gathering and shared glimpses of the day through a series of photos on Instagram.
Instead of hosting a large party, Baig posted a casual carousel featuring selfies, a photo with fellow singer Asim Azhar and moments from a modest cake-cutting surprise organised by friends and colleagues while she was at work.
Another image captured the singer showing a shopping haul to her father. In the photo, he appeared unconvinced when she jokingly described the purchases as “self-care,” with his reaction becoming one of the lighter moments in the post.
However, the singer used the birthday update to offer a deeper reflection on her life rather than simply celebrating the occasion.
In a lengthy caption, Baig revealed that birthdays are not usually her favourite days unless they provide a chance to remember loved ones who are no longer around.
She wrote that her late mother was the first person on her mind when she woke up that morning, prompting a period of quiet reflection before heading to work.
Artist reflects on journey and public life
Baig explained that she spent most of her birthday working, describing her routine humorously as a mix of work, “mazdoori” (labour) and sometimes “majboori” (compulsion).
Nevertheless, she expressed gratitude for being able to pursue her passion for music. She thanked fans for the support she has received throughout her career, acknowledging that both praise and criticism have become part of the experience.
According to Baig, the most touching moment of the day came when colleagues surprised her with a cake-cutting celebration at work.
Reflecting on turning 31, the singer noted that much of her life has unfolded in the public eye since she entered the industry at 18.
The post also included a message linked to her zodiac sign, Pisces, encouraging transformation, emotional growth and letting go of situations that no longer bring peace.
