Israel is preparing to continue its military operations against Iran for at least two more weeks as part of a broader strategy to weaken Tehranโs military infrastructure. According to The Times of Israel, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have dropped more than 5000 bombs on Iran in recent days.
The Israeli military intends to strike thousands more Iranian regime targets during the ongoing campaign.
The announcement came several days after Israel launched an extensive bombing operation targeting multiple locations inside Iran. Israeli officials say the primary objective of the campaign is the systematic degradation of the Iranian regimeโs military capabilities and security infrastructure.
Israeli air force expands bombing campaign across Iran
The Israeli military confirmed that the Israeli Air Force has dropped more than 5,000 bombs on Iranian territory since the start of the conflict. Officials stated that fighter jets continue to expand air superiority operations across the country, particularly around the capital, Tehran.
Meanwhile, a senior Israeli Air Force officer claimed that the strikes inflicted heavy losses on Iranian forces. Colonel โAleph,โ commander of the Ramat David Airbase, said in a video released by the military that Israeli strikes had killed thousands of Iranian soldiers in recent days.
He also described participating in an operation targeting a large Iranian military compound in eastern Tehran. According to the officer, dozens of Israeli fighter jets operated simultaneously, dropping large quantities of precision-guided munitions on designated targets.
Major Iranian security facilities targeted in Tehran strikes
In addition, the Israeli military reported conducting large-scale airstrikes on a major Iranian military complex in eastern Tehran. More than 100 fighter jets participated in the operation and dropped over 250 bombs on the compound.
According to Israeli officials, the complex housed several key Iranian security institutions, including headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Quds Force, intelligence units, the Basij paramilitary force, cyber units, and special forces from Iranโs internal security services.
The military stated that the targeted facilities played a central role in planning operations against Israel and managing regional activities.
