ISLAMABAD: Operation Sindoor 2 has become viral on social media after Pakistani armed forces brutally thrashed Afghan Taliban forces for attacking security posts of Pakistan on the border with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday night.
Soon after border clashes and aerial strikes, social media users are making a mockery of the Afghan forces with the view that Afghanistan has launched Operation Sindoor 2 to please India. In May 2025, India launched Operation Sindoor against Pakistan and faced a similar fate when Pakistan’s armed forces taught a bitter lesson to India in less than four-hour retaliation, which left India with no other choice but to beg for a ceasefire through the United States.
Pakistani social media users taunted Afghanistan for being a tout and a puppet of India. The frequent terrorist attacks by militant groups based in Afghanistan are being dubbed as the proxies of India.
That’s why the social media users are talking about the Operation Sindoor 2, this time by Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday accused external actors operating in Kabul of acting at New Delhi’s behest and claimed that the Afghan government lacks the authority to hold meaningful negotiations. He warned that Pakistan would respond forcefully to any provocation.
Speaking on Geo News programme โAaj Shahzeb Khanzada Ke Saath,โ Asif said Kabul was playing a โpuppet roleโ for India. He asserted that Islamabad would not engage in talks with those โwhose hands are stained with the blood of our children.โ Furthermore, he warned that Pakistan would respond โmany times overโ if Kabul or its backers attempted to target Islamabad.
Blames India for Proxy Campaign
Asif blamed past policies for the current instability and said that those responsible for making those decisions should be held accountable. Moreover, he accused India of launching a proxy campaign against Pakistan. He argued that after facing setbacks in confrontation, New Delhi now seeks retaliation through proxies operating from Afghan soil.
Regarding talks with the Afghan Taliban, Asif expressed skepticism. He said the group does not exercise full control across Afghanistan and added that assurances from one faction cannot guarantee broader compliance. He remarked that since the Afghan Taliban assumed power, attacks have continued to claim Pakistani lives.
Stance on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Palestine
Asif emphasized respect for the elected provincial government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and maintained that authorities conducted negotiations transparently while safeguarding provincial interests.
On Palestine, he stated that if the Muslim world decided to deploy forces to protect Palestinians and Pakistan had a role, participation would be a matter of national pride. However, he clarified that the government would make any such decision in consultation with Parliament.
