LAHORE: Punjab Police have stepped up their campaign against illegal Afghan nationals residing across the province. The law enforcement agencies have deported 32,588 individuals so far as part of the ongoing drive.
A police spokesperson stated that the deported individuals include 12,273 men, 6,661 women, and 13,654 children. Moreover, officials removed Afghan nationals along with other undocumented foreign residents from various districts, including Lahore. The authorities continue to monitor different areas to ensure compliance with government directives. The police have intensified their campaign amid growing incidents of terrorism in the country from Afghanistan soil.
Breakdown of Deportation Figures
According to official data, 10,419 deported individuals possessed some form of residential proof. Meanwhile, 11,098 held Afghan Citizen Cards, and 11,071 were undocumented foreign nationals without valid legal status. In addition, police currently hold 90 illegal residents at designated holding points as authorities complete necessary procedures.
Officials confirmed that law enforcement agencies have streamlined coordination to accelerate the deportation process. Furthermore, security teams have increased surveillance in urban and border areas to prevent unauthorized movement.
High Security Alert Across Province
Inspector General of Police Abdul Karim emphasized that Punjab remains on high security alert amid the ongoing operation. He urged all illegal residents to leave voluntarily in accordance with government policy. Additionally, he assured that Punjab Police are implementing the deportation process in line with international laws and regulations.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order while ensuring that all actions comply with legal frameworks. As the campaign continues, officials expect further progress in identifying and removing undocumented foreign nationals from the province.
