Detention follows Imran Khan’s hospital visit and high-security movement
ISLAMABAD: Rawalpindi police have arrested a YouTuber, Haider Saeed, who filmed the convoy of PTI Founder Imran Khan during his shifting from Adiala Jail to PIMS Hospital.
Law enforcement officials detained Haider Saeed for recording the movement of incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan during his transfer between a hospital and prison. Police took Haider Saeed into custody on Tuesday in the Dahgal Naka area, near Adiala Jail, and shifted him to the Adiala Police Post for questioning.
According to sources, the detention followed an incident late Monday night when officials transported the former prime minister from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) back to Adiala Jail after a medical examination. Saeed allegedly recorded footage of the official motorcade outside the hospital. As a result, security personnel intervened and detained him for further inquiry.
Medical treatment continues amid legal battles
Meanwhile, hospital officials confirmed that doctors administered a second dose of an anti-VEGF intravitreal injection to Khan as part of his ongoing treatment. The 73-year-old politician has remained in jail since August 2023 after courts convicted him in multiple cases.
However, Khan maintains that authorities filed the cases for political reasons following his removal from office through a parliamentary vote in 2022.
Furthermore, a report submitted to the Supreme Court revealed that doctors diagnosed Khan with central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), a serious eye condition. The report stated that he retains only 15 percent vision in his right eye.
Nevertheless, government officials insist that he is receiving the best possible medical care. Doctors have already administered two injections and plan to give another dose in the coming weeks.
