Overseas Pakistanis Open Over 900,000 Accounts Since Launch
KARACHI: The Roshan Digital Account (RDA) initiative has surpassed $12 billion in total inflows as of February 10, 2026, marking a major milestone since its launch in September 2020. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) confirmed that inflows had reached $11.707 billion by the end of December 2025 and continued to rise steadily in the following weeks.
Moreover, overseas Pakistanis have opened more than 900,000 accounts under the initiative, reflecting sustained engagement with the digital banking platform.
The SBP thanked the diaspora for their continued trust and support, emphasizing that the consistent rise in inflows highlights their crucial contribution to strengthening Pakistanโs foreign exchange reserves.
Initiative Strengthens Reserves and Financial Stability
Analysts noted that the steady increase in RDA inflows demonstrates growing confidence among non-resident Pakistanis. Consequently, these inflows have supported external account stability and enhanced overall financial resilience.
The SBP launched the Roshan Digital Account to facilitate overseas Pakistanis by allowing them to open digital bank accounts remotely in collaboration with commercial banks.
Furthermore, the platform offers a broad range of services, including banking transactions, payments, and investment opportunities in Pakistan. It also enables account holders to send remittances conveniently and securely.
As inflows continue to grow, policymakers expect the initiative to play an even greater role in boosting reserves and promoting sustainable economic stability.
