The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warned that rain, gusty winds, and dust will hit Sindh, including Karachi, on February 7. Furthermore, the Met Office predicts storms and rainfall across multiple provinces from February 16 to 17.
The PMD added that hailstorms could strike northern Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwaโs Dera Ismail Khan, and Punjabโs Dera Ghazi Khan. These storms could damage crops and weaken buildings. Consequently, authorities advised farmers and the public to take precautionary measures.
Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms to Sweep Across Balochistan
The Met Office forecast light to moderate rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms across most of Balochistan. Areas likely to experience these conditions include Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Chaghi, Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Noshki, Harnai, Zhob, Kalat, Mastung, Barkhan, Sibi, Loralai, Khuzdar, Kech, Turbat, Panjgur, Gwadar, Awaran, Kharan, Pasni, Ormara, and Lasbela.
Rain will start on the evening of February 16 and continue through the night of February 17, with occasional breaks. At the same time, strong winds will lift dust and reduce visibility. As a result, the PMD urged travelers to exercise caution and follow official weather updates.
Rain and Dusty Winds to Hit Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Sindh will see rain and gusty, dust-raising winds on February 17. Districts including Dadu, Hyderabad, Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Jamshoro, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, and Khairpur will receive showers.
Meanwhile, southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will experience light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in Waziristan, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, and Kurram from the night of February 16 to February 17. At the same time, southern Punjab may get isolated rain or drizzle and strong winds. Districts such as Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Bhakkar, Layyah, and Bahawalpur will feel the effects on February 17.

Additionally, hailstorms may strike northern Balochistan, Dera Ismail Khan, and Dera Ghazi Khan. These storms could damage crops and fragile structures.
