Serial Guinness World Records holder David Rush has reclaimed his title for balancing a chair on his chin after holding the position for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Rush, from Idaho in the United States, previously set the record at 1 hour and 8 minutes. However, another balancing specialist later surpassed him by maintaining the feat for 1 hour and 19 minutes, stripping Rush of the title.
Determined to regain his record, Rush began intensive training focused on rebuilding neck endurance. In a post on his website, he explained that he spent several months preparing specifically for the challenge. He emphasized that the attempt demands sustained strength and concentration because the chair places continuous pressure on the jaw, neck, and upper spine.
โThe moment the chair is in place, there is no rest,โ Rush noted, describing the physical strain involved. Every second requires steady control to prevent the chair from tipping.
Earlier, Rush also drew attention for balancing a ladder on his chin for 19 minutes and 11 seconds, further demonstrating his commitment to unusual endurance challenges.
After reviewing the video evidence and documentation he submitted, Guinness World Records officials officially reinstated Rush as the record holder. The confirmation marks another milestone in his long list of record-breaking achievements.
Rush has built a reputation for repeatedly setting and reclaiming world records, often using his attempts to promote STEM education and personal goal-setting. With this latest accomplishment, he once again proved his persistence and dedication to pushing physical limits.
