The Cary Police Department is investigating a vandalism incident at the Sri Venkateswara Temple of North Carolina that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, January 18. According to police, the incident took place around 3:00 a.m.
Security footage from the temple shows at least five individuals running toward a small sedan before speeding away. Shortly after, the Dvarapalaka statue, located in front of the temple, was discovered damaged.
Detectives are actively working to identify the suspects and are urging the community to assist in the investigation. Police have not yet released the names of any suspects but have confirmed that the vehicle involved was a small sedan.
Authorities are also investigating the circumstances surrounding the damage, including whether this act was targeted or random.
