The Russian Embassy in Pakistan has announced a major opportunity for Pakistani students aspiring to pursue higher education in Russia, with the opening of official registration for the online stage of the Open Olympiad of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) for foreign citizens.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, the embassy described the initiative as “good news for Pakistani high school and university students who wish to continue their studies in Russia.” High school graduates as well as final-year university students are eligible to participate in the Olympiad.
The Open Olympiad serves as a gateway for international students to secure admission to RUDN, one of Russia’s leading universities. According to the embassy, candidates who secure first place in the competition will be eligible for fully funded education at RUDN under the Russian government quota. Participants finishing as runner-ups will receive substantial tuition fee discounts and may also qualify for free education, subject to the availability of government-funded seats after winners are admitted.
To apply, students must complete online registration and upload scanned copies of required documents, including a valid passport or national identity card, educational diploma or certificate, and academic transcripts from the last year of study. Once registered, applicants will be required to pass an online test as part of the initial evaluation.
Successful candidates will then be invited to an individual interview, which forms the next stage of the selection process. The embassy emphasized that the Olympiad is designed to identify talented students and provide them with accessible pathways to quality education in Russia.
