PM Sharif directed authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment for all injured individuals, including those in critical condition. Hospitals in Karachi were instructed to provide full support to manage the emergency effectively. The Prime Minister emphasized swift action to save lives and provide relief to those affected.
In terms of rescue operations, Shehbaz Sharif instructed all relevant agencies to collaborate fully. Reports suggested that 30โ35 people might still be trapped inside the multi-storey plaza, making life-saving efforts the top priority. He also called for precautions to protect citizens and property in surrounding areas, with special attention on the safety of nearby buildings amid structural collapse concerns.
The Prime Minister further pledged that affected traders and residents would receive complete assistance to recover from the disaster. Rehabilitation and support efforts were instructed to begin immediately to help the victims rebuild their lives.
The fire broke out around 10:15 p.m. on Saturday and quickly spread from the ground floor to the upper levels of Gul Plaza. Firefighters battled flames for hours, facing explosions, toxic smoke, and fears of structural collapse.
Rescue teams confirmed five fatalities, including Faraz, Kashif, Aamir, and Shahroz, while the fifth victim remains unidentified. More than 20 people were injured, with several in critical condition. Emergency personnel continue searching the building, navigating heavy smoke and debris to locate potential survivors still trapped inside.
