ISLAMABAD: Pakistani actor Alizeh Shah has warned director and producer Yasir Nawaz of a defamation lawsuit for repeatedly mentioning her in public and describing his work experience with her as โnot fun.โ The Ehd-e-Wafa star shared the warning through an Instagram story, where she expressed disappointment and asked Nawaz to refrain from using her name in future interviews. She described the message as her final warning and signalled that she will pursue legal action if the behaviour continues.
Shah said five years have passed since she worked with Nawaz on the drama Mera Dil Mera Dushman. However, she claimed that he continues to bring up her name across multiple platforms. According to the actress, Nawaz sometimes offers an apology, yet at other times repeats that the experience was unpleasant. She added that this pattern has caused ongoing distress and has damaged her professional image.
Legal action is considered as actress documents evidence
Shah stated that she has decided to address the matter through legal channels if Nawaz mentions or refers to her again. She said she has documented recordings and reports of every show in which her name was discussed. Therefore, she believes she has sufficient evidence to support a defamation claim.
Moreover, the actress warned that she could disclose further details about the situation if the director continues the behaviour. She said the real reasons behind his dissatisfaction with working with her would not reflect positively on his image. Consequently, she urged him to end the public commentary and respect her boundaries.
The renewed statement follows a controversy that began months ago after Nawaz spoke openly about his challenges while working with Shah. Subsequently, his wife and television host Nida Yasir publicly defended him. She suggested that the two actors lacked on-screen chemistry, which contributed to the difficulties during the project.
The dispute has now reignited public debate on professionalism, boundaries, and accountability within Pakistanโs entertainment industry.
