Amid growing diplomatic and economic engagement with Central Asia, Pakistan is set to host the presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in the first week of February, the Foreign Office confirmed. The visits mark a continuation of the countryโs efforts to strengthen regional ties and enhance cooperation with key Central Asian nations.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev are scheduled to arrive in Pakistan to participate in high-level discussions and sign important bilateral agreements. These engagements are expected to bolster trade, investment, and strategic partnerships between Pakistan and the two countries.
During his visit, President Tokayev will inaugurate a chess centre at the Sports Complex in Islamabad, reflecting Kazakhstanโs support for cultural and educational initiatives in Pakistan. The inauguration is also symbolic of broader people-to-people and youth-oriented cooperation between the two nations.
President Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan will hold talks with Pakistani leadership to strengthen regional connectivity and economic collaboration.
Key focus areas include advancing the long-planned railway line project between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, which aims to facilitate trade and enhance transportation links across the region. The project is seen as a cornerstone for deeper economic integration between South and Central Asia.
The upcoming visits come at a time when Pakistan has been actively seeking to expand its ties with Central Asian states, covering areas such as trade, energy, infrastructure, and cultural exchange.
Officials anticipate that the agreements signed during these visits will provide momentum for long-term partnerships and pave the way for future collaborative projects.
Foreign Office spokespersons emphasized that these visits underscore Pakistanโs commitment to fostering stronger diplomatic relations with Central Asia and promoting regional stability.
By engaging with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan at the highest level, Pakistan aims to strengthen not only bilateral relations but also multilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
