The Pakistan Foreign Office on Thursday dismissed claims that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is involved in any foreign conflict, calling such statements by India’s foreign minister “irresponsible.”
Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said the remarks, made in Luxembourg, are an attempt to divert attention from Indian-sponsored terrorism. He stressed that India should focus on reviewing its own policies rather than lecturing Pakistan.
Andrabi clarified that the PAF is not participating in any armed conflict abroad and reaffirmed Pakistan’s opposition to foreign aggression against Iran. He highlighted Islamabad’s close cooperation with Saudi Arabia across multiple sectors, including defence, and called for verified assurances from the Afghan Taliban to ensure Afghan territory is not used for terrorism.
The briefing also addressed regional issues, including the Indus Waters Treaty, which Pakistan insists must be restored following India’s unilateral suspension. On Kashmir, Andrabi noted the observance of Self-Determination Day and condemned India’s efforts to alter the region’s demographic balance since August 5, 2019.
Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement with China was emphasised, with both countries agreeing to harmonise CPEC projects and promote regional peace. Andrabi said China acknowledged Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for China’s national unity efforts.
The spokesperson also addressed Somaliland, rejecting its recognition as a divisive move against Somalia, and confirmed no decision has been made regarding Pakistan’s potential participation in the Gaza Stabilisation Force.
He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional security, international cooperation, adherence to water treaties, and opposition to unilateral actions by India, while calling for peace and stability across South Asia.
