OPPO’s Reno14 Series transforms smartphone design into an emotional experience, proving that first impressions matter as much as specifications. Every detail—from color to material to finish (CMF)—is thoughtfully crafted to create a device that is visually striking and tactilely satisfying.
Inspiration: Dreamy Ocean & Natural Flow
The design journey began with extensive user research, pinpointing trends for the next two years. Two themes emerged:

Dreamy Ocean: Vibrant, transparent hues inspired by marine life, light refraction, and bioluminescence.

Natural Flow: Serene, earthy tones inspired by forests and sunlight, evoking calm and vitality.
These concepts resulted in Opal White and Luminous Green, capturing the essence of water and nature while interacting dynamically with light.
Industrial Design & CMF Collaboration
The Industrial Design (ID) team shapes the phone’s lightweight, ergonomic frame, while the CMF team selects textures, finishes, and colors to create visual depth and tactile delight. The two teams work hand-in-hand, balancing functionality and aesthetic appeal, ensuring the Reno14 feels alive in your hands.
Mastering Glass & Light
The Reno14 uses sculpted one-piece glass enhanced with iridescent coatings to create dynamic light effects. Techniques such as the Tyndall effect allow colors to shift like sunlight on a fish tail (Opal White) or morning rays through a forest (Luminous Green). This eight-month refinement process involved innovative polishing, sanding, and coral velvet technology to achieve premium transparency, texture, and depth.
