The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the resumption of its Islamabad-London flights from March 29, 2026, marking the return of the route after a six-year hiatus. The airline will operate four flights per week to London, landing at Heathrow Airportโs modern Terminal 4, providing passengers with improved travel options.
Currently, PIA operates three weekly flights from Pakistan to Manchester. The new London flights aim to enhance connectivity for travelers, reflecting the airlineโs efforts to strengthen its UK operations.
The announcement follows approval for four weekly flight slots at Heathrow, which had been temporarily allocated to Turkish Airlines to keep them active during PIAโs previous suspension.
With operational restrictions easing, PIA has formally notified Heathrow Airport in writing of its decision to restart services to London. The move comes in the wake of the airlineโs successful privatisation, with 75% of PIAโs stake sold to a consortium led by the Arif Habib Corporation for Rs135 billion. The consortium has announced plans to expand the airlineโs fleet to 64 aircraft in phases.
Additionally, the Fauji Fertiliser Company Limited has joined the Arif Habib-led consortium, contributing financial support, corporate expertise, and participating in PIAโs management structure.
The combined efforts of the consortium and FFC are expected to strengthen the airlineโs operations, improve passenger services, and ensure the sustainable expansion of domestic and international routes.
The resumption of Islamabad-London flights marks a significant milestone in PIAโs recovery and growth strategy. It reflects the airlineโs commitment to reconnecting Pakistan with key international destinations and providing passengers with efficient, high-quality service.
With this relaunch, travelers between Islamabad and London will benefit from increased flexibility, modern facilities, and enhanced operational reliability as PIA rebuilds its international network.
