Sania Ashfaq, the former wife of Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim, has stated that the involvement of a third party ultimately led to the collapse of their marriage, breaking her silence after Wasim’s recent public statement confirming their divorce.
In a detailed post shared on Instagram, Sania said she was speaking from a place of “deep pain,” describing how her family had been shattered and her children left without their father. She noted that she is a mother of three, including a five-month-old infant who, according to her, has yet to be held by his father.
“This is not a story I wished to share, but silence should never be mistaken for weakness,” she wrote, explaining that while their marriage had faced challenges like many others, she remained committed to preserving their family.
Sania alleged that the decisive factor behind the separation was the involvement of another individual who intended to marry her husband. She described this interference as “the final blow to an already struggling union,” despite her efforts to hold the family together as a wife and mother.
She further claimed that following this development, she endured emotional distress, mistreatment, abandonment, and an abortion while she was pregnant and vulnerable. According to Sania, she chose patience during this period for the sake of her children and the dignity of her home.
Addressing the legal status of the separation, Sania said the divorce process remains disputed and under legal scrutiny. She added that the truth would emerge through proper legal channels and warned that attempts to silence or intimidate her would be met with legal action.
She also referenced verses from the Quran to underscore her faith and resilience, emphasising that justice ultimately prevails. Sania stated that documented evidence exists regarding everyone involved in the matter, but she has been threatened against making it public.
“I speak today not out of vengeance, but out of truth — for myself, for my children, and for every woman who was told to endure in silence,” she concluded.
