Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, along with Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of Naval Staff, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff, on Thursday paid tribute to the immortal legacy of Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, on his martyrdom anniversary. According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed remains a towering symbol of valour and sacrifice. During the 1971 war at the Wagah sector, he exhibited extraordinary bravery under overwhelming enemy fire.
Despite sustaining severe injuries, he pressed forward with unwavering determination, ultimately laying down his life in the highest tradition of military honour. His gallantry in combat is considered one of the most luminous chapters in Pakistan Armed Forces history.
