Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday stated that Pakistan delivered an unforgettable lesson to the Modi government during the Pakistan-India conflict. Addressing a ceremony at the University of Haripur for the inauguration of the PMโs Laptop Scheme 2025 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), he said, โPakistan had taught the Modi government such a lesson during the conflict that it would never forget.โ
Referring to the Marka-e-Haq (the Battle of Truth), the prime minister praised the Pakistani armed forces for achieving victory with the prayers and unwavering support of the nation. โIndia, from Delhi to Mumbai, would never forget this defeat,โ he added.
The May conflict was triggered after India launched an unprovoked attack following the killing of 26 tourists in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which India claims were Pakistanis โ a charge Islamabad has denied and called for a neutral investigation.
During the 87-hour confrontation, Pakistan downed six Indian fighter jets, including three Rafales, and dozens of drones. The war concluded on May 10 with a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement.
The prime minister highlighted Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a province of brave and resilient people who had long fought terrorism. โIt is because of your sacrifices that peace has been restored in the country,โ he said.
He also announced that laptop distribution under the PMโs Laptop Scheme would expand across the province, emphasizing that youth are the driving force behind Pakistanโs development.
Touching on economic challenges, PM Shehbaz stated that Pakistan had been saved from bankruptcy through hard work, not โwitchcraft,โ noting that the economy had stabilized and now needed forward momentum. He stressed that when all four provinces develop, the country will progress, highlighting unity as the foundation of national growth.
The premier further announced the establishment of Daanish Schools in Haripur, with separate campuses for boys and girls, and committed to an early establishment of a womenโs campus at the University of Haripur, ensuring it would align with local cultural values.
