Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Information and KP Affairs, Ikhtiar Wali Khan, announced on Wednesday that the government is considering relocating PTI founder Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to a prison in another province. He said persistent PTI protests outside the facility have disrupted daily life in Rawalpindi, and claimed that PTI leaders themselves want “prisoner number 804” transferred from Punjab for political advantage.
Accusations of Instability and Political Manipulation
Ikhtiar Wali accused PTI of deliberately pursuing an agenda designed to create national instability. He argued that the party’s protests aim to manufacture chaos and pressure the government into shifting the former prime minister. According to him, PTI has “attacked the country’s dignity” and continues to mislead the youth for political gain.
The coordinator also declared that all negotiation avenues with Imran Khan remain closed, saying that “even a local councillor in Rawalpindi” is unwilling to engage with PTI. He insisted that Pakistan must now draw a clear line between those supporting the state and those acting against it.
Serious Allegations Against KP Government
Ikhtiar Wali further alleged that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was involved in “collusion with terrorists,” accusing provincial authorities of providing facilitation. He claimed vehicles belonging to two KP ministers were impounded in drug cases and asserted that open drug trade continues even in the chief minister’s own district.
Military Also Critiques PTI Narrative
Last week, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry warned against what he called “poisonous propaganda” targeting the Pakistan Army. Without naming Imran Khan, he suggested that a “mentally unstable individual” and his associates seek to portray national politics as revolving solely around themselves while undermining state institutions.
