Saudi Arabia has announced revised timings and procedures for visiting the sacred Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH) at Al Masjid an-Nabawi. The new rules also outline separate schedules for men and women. Access to the site is now fully regulated through the Nusuk platform, which manages permits for religious visits.
According to the new guidelines, visitors must secure a Nusuk permit before entering the sacred area. The booking is normally available once every 365 days. However, worshippers near the mosque can sometimes use the “Instant Track” option for immediate scheduling. This system aims to improve crowd control and enhance visitor convenience.
Entry Routes and Accessibility Arrangements
Authorities have outlined specific entry points for pilgrims. Visitors must enter through the southern courtyards located in front of Makkah Gate 37. The route helps streamline movement and maintain order during peak hours. Elderly individuals are permitted to use manual wheelchairs, ensuring accessible entry and a smoother visit.
Timings for Men on Regular Days and Fridays
For men, the visitation schedule has been adjusted to better manage flow inside the sacred chamber. On regular days, men can visit from 2:00am until the Fajr prayer. They may return again from 11:20am until the Isha prayer. These two windows offer flexible opportunities for worshippers while preventing overcrowding.
On Fridays, the timings expand slightly. Men can visit from 2:00am until Fajr. Another slot is available from 9:20am to 11:20am. A final session opens after the Jummah prayer and continues until Isha. These changes aim to manage the increased number of visitors on the blessed day.
Timings for Women on Regular Days and Fridays
Women have been allocated their own dedicated hours. On regular days, women can visit after Fajr until 11:00am. A second window opens after Isha and runs until 2:00am. These timings ensure privacy and allow women to perform their ziyarah comfortably.
On Fridays, women may visit from after Fajr until 9:00am. They also retain their regular night slot from after Isha until 2:00am. These structured periods support safe and organised access for female visitors.
A Streamlined System for Millions of Pilgrims
The revised schedule is part of ongoing improvements at the Prophet’s Mosque. The changes aim to support millions of annual visitors while maintaining calm, safety and spiritual focus. With clearly defined timings, separate arrangements, and the required Nusuk permit, worshippers can now plan their visit more efficiently.
