A Pakistani-origin American student has been arrested in Delaware after authorities allegedly uncovered illegal weapons and documents outlining a detailed attack plan targeting a police building. U.S. media reports confirm that 25-year-old Luqman Khan, a University of Delaware student, was taken into custody on the night of November 24.
Weapons, Sketches, and Attack Plans Recovered
Police stopped a truck in Canby Park West, where Khan was traveling. Officers said he refused to comply with their instructions and resisted exiting the vehicle. He was detained shortly afterward.
During the search of the vehicle, police recovered a pistol, magazines, and documents believed to be linked to an attack plan. Among the materials was a detailed sketch of the University of Delaware police station, including marked entry and exit routes and the name of a police officer.
The investigation intensified the next day. On November 25, FBI agents raided Khan’s residence and reportedly found additional advanced weapons. According to U.S. authorities, Khan is a Pakistani-origin U.S. citizen and a current university student who was allegedly preparing to carry out an attack against the University of Delaware Police Department.
Charges Filed, Court Appearance Set
Luqman Khan has been formally charged with possessing an illegal machine gun and planning an attack. Officials say he had no prior criminal record before this incident. He is scheduled to appear in court on December 11 as the investigation continues.
Authorities have not yet released further details regarding potential motives, but the case has raised security concerns within the university community.
