Days after the passing of veteran actor Dharmendra at the age of 89, rumours about disputes over his reported ₹400 crore will began circulating on social media. However, a close family insider has strongly denied any such conflict, calling the stories “baseless” and “ill-timed.”
Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, at his Mumbai residence, following a brief period in Breach Candy Hospital due to age-related health complications and breathing issues.
Following his death, social media posts suggested that his sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, intended to exclude Hema Malini, Esha Deol, and Ahana Deol from the inheritance. These claims sparked widespread speculation, adding unnecessary distress to a grieving family.
A family friend, speaking on behalf of the Deols, clarified that there is no dispute over Dharmendra’s assets. “All members of the family are financially independent. There is no dispute over inheritance,” the insider stated, dismissing the circulating rumours as untrue.
The friend also emphasized that although Esha and Ahana may not hold legal claims through their mother under certain inheritance laws, Sunny Deol has no intention of distancing them from the family. “Sunny is heartbroken right now. But Esha and Ahana remain an important part of the Deol family, exactly as Dharmendra wanted,” the insider added.
In the wake of the actor’s death, the family conducted separate prayer ceremonies to honour his memory. On November 27, Sunny and Bobby hosted a prayer meet at Taj Lands End in Bandra, while Hema Malini and her daughters held a private service at their residence.
Despite the separate gatherings, the insider reassured that the family remains emotionally united, mourning the loss of a legendary star whose contribution to Indian cinema spans generations.
The clarification comes as fans and the media continue to pay tribute to Dharmendra’s legacy, which is celebrated not only for his iconic films but also for the strong familial bonds he nurtured.
