Shalimar Recording & Broadcasting Company Limited (SRBC), the government-owned operator of ATV, has officially announced the termination of all employees as part of court-supervised liquidation proceedings ordered by the Islamabad High Court. The office order, issued on November 24, 2025, mandates that the cessation of services for all categories of personnel be completed by the close of business on November 30, 2025.
The liquidation directive applies to every type of employee, including regular, contractual, deputed, temporary, daily-wage, broadcast resource persons, and individuals holding officiating or additional charges, as well as those currently on leave.
Employees have been instructed to submit a written work-status and task-completion report, hand over official files, documents, passwords, assets, media storage devices, and other operational materials by November 28. Functional handovers have been assigned to designated focal persons across administrative, finance, engineering, technical, and station management roles.
In addition, employees are required to provide clearance acknowledgments, bank details, CNIC copies, and updated contact information to the Administration Office.
The notice assures staff that all financial dues, including gratuity (where applicable), leave encashment, pending salary differences, and other claims, will be calculated in accordance with SRBC service rules and applicable laws. Payments will be processed based on the availability of liquidation funds and priorities approved by the Islamabad High Court.
The office order emphasizes that the termination of services is strictly a court-mandated requirement for liquidation and does not constitute disciplinary action or punitive termination.
The directive has been signed by Muhammad Atif Saeed on behalf of Khilji Rahat Waheed, Chartered Accountants, acting as the Official Liquidators of SRBC. Copies of the order have been circulated to the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, PTVC, PBC, PNCA, and posted on SRBCโs notice board to ensure full compliance across all departments.
This measure marks a significant step in the court-directed liquidation of SRBC and the ATV channel, highlighting the legal and administrative procedures involved in winding down a government-owned media operation. Employees and stakeholders have been asked to adhere strictly to the handover and reporting requirements as part of the process.
