A vibrant and colorful torch relay ceremony for the 35th National Games took place at Rawal Dam, Islamabad, on Sunday, drawing athletes, officials, and sports enthusiasts from across the capital.
Organized by the Islamabad Olympic Association (IOA), the event marked an important milestone in the lead-up to Pakistan’s national mega sporting event. The ceremony featured renowned sports personalities, including Olympian Sadaf Siddiqui and Asian Gold Medalist Muhammad Akram. IOA Secretary General Rizwan ul Haq Razi, along with numerous athletes, organizers, and officials, attended the event, highlighting the growing excitement surrounding the Games.
In a visually striking moment, the National Games torch arrived on boats sailing across Rawal Lake. Upon reaching the venue, Rizwan-ul-Haq handed the torch to the Balochistan Olympic Association, symbolizing the continuation of the nationwide relay.
The torch had already traveled through several cities, showcasing national unity, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm across Pakistan.
The 35th National Games, a major sporting event, will officially begin on December 6 in Karachi. More than 6,000 athletes from across the country are expected to compete in a wide range of sports, demonstrating their skills on one of Pakistan’s largest sporting stages.
