Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi have renewed their Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise agreements for another 10 years, reaffirming their long-term commitment to the league following fresh franchise valuations, officials announced on Monday.
The extensions were formalized during a ceremony in Islamabad, attended by Lahore Qalandars CEO Atif Rana, star cricketers Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

Naqvi praised Lahore Qalandars for their continued trust in the league, noting how the franchise has evolved into an international brand. He highlighted the Qalandars’ extensive talent development programs, which he said have injected “new energy into Pakistan cricket.” PSL CEO Salman Naseer echoed the sentiment and announced that the league is set to expand to eight teams in its 11th edition next year.
Under Shaheen Shah Afridi’s captaincy, Lahore Qalandars have enjoyed remarkable success, winning three PSL titles in the last four seasons, further solidifying their status as one of the league’s most successful teams.
Peshawar Zalmi
Peshawar Zalmi also extended its PSL franchise rights for another decade, ensuring the team will continue under the ownership of Javed Afridi, who has played a pivotal role in building the franchise’s enormous fan base and brand identity.
Chairman Mohsin Naqvi called Zalmi “Pakistan’s most popular franchise,” crediting Afridi’s leadership and vision for the team’s growth and strong national and international following. PSL CEO Salman Naseer said the renewal reflects Zalmi’s trust in the league, emphasizing the team’s deep connection with fans and its contribution to PSL’s identity.

As PSL prepares for expansion and future growth, the decade-long commitments from two of its biggest franchises signal stability and rising confidence in the league’s long-term potential.
