Kia has officially introduced the second-generation Telluride, showcasing significant upgrades to its flagship three-row SUV ahead of the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show. The redesigned model emphasizes refined styling and enhanced interior space while maintaining its bold, commanding presence.
Expanded Dimensions for Maximum Comfort
The 2027 Telluride now claims the title of Kia’s largest vehicle, measuring 5,059mm in length, 1,990mm in width, and 1,776mm in height. The extended 2,977mm wheelbase represents a 76mm increase over the previous generation, delivering noticeably more cabin space for passengers across all three rows.
Sophisticated Design Evolution
Kia’s design team adopted a “restrained” approach, featuring distinctive vertical headlamps flanking an enlarged grille. The rear styling draws inspiration from premium luxury SUVs, while flush door handles improve aerodynamic efficiency. The rugged X-Pro variant includes blacked-out exterior elements, all-terrain tires, and impressive 231mm ground clearance for off-road capability.
Advanced Interior and Seating Flexibility
Inside, drivers will find a horizontal dashboard layout featuring twin widescreen displays for instrumentation and infotainment. Seating configurations include either 2-2-3 or 2-3-3 arrangements, with improved second and third-row accessibility.
Powertrain Options and Hybrid Technology
While Kia hasn’t confirmed final specifications, the existing 3.8-liter V6 engine producing 217kW/355Nm should return. A new turbocharged 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain is expected, potentially generating 245kW/460Nm with fuel consumption around 6.8L/100km.
Unfortunately, the Telluride remains a left-hand-drive exclusive produced in the United States, limiting availability to the North American market. Australian buyers seeking comparable space can explore the electric EV9 or the versatile Carnival people mover.
