Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour reportedly pretended to get along during the recent Stranger Things premiere despite ongoing behind-the-scenes tensions. Reports suggest that Brown accused Harbour of “bullying and harassment” during filming of the Netflix series and even filed “pages and pages” of formal complaints before production wrapped on the show’s fifth and final season.
Despite the alleged issues, the two appeared together on the red carpet at the Stranger Things premiere, where they hugged and posed for photos. According to Radar Online, the pair “pretended” to be close during press interviews and public appearances, even as their off-screen relationship reportedly remained strained.
Public relations expert Alexandria Hurley explained that such behavior is not unusual in the entertainment industry. “Promotional appearances and public dynamics are often not reflective of private working relationships — especially on high-stakes sets,” she told the outlet.
Hurley added that actors are “contractually obligated to participate in press, joint interviews, and branding moments that reinforce the on-screen bond,” even when personal relationships are tense.
Throughout the show’s run, Harbour often referred to Brown as his “on-screen daughter,” reflecting their close father-daughter relationship on the series. However, sources claim that the British actress grew increasingly uncomfortable with Harbour’s alleged off-camera conduct.
Amid the renewed scrutiny, an old MTV interview from 2024 resurfaced online, showing Brown’s demeanor change when a reporter joked about Harbour officiating her wedding. The clip has since reignited online discussion about the pair’s relationship and workplace dynamics on the hit Netflix series.
Neither Brown nor Harbour has publicly commented on the latest allegations, and Netflix has not issued an official statement. The controversy has added tension to the show’s final season, which has been one of the streaming platform’s most anticipated releases.
