The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) of Pakistan is continuing its efforts to facilitate Overseas Pakistanis, particularly those living in Saudi Arabia. NADRA has announced that its Mobile Registration Team, alongside the Pakistani Embassy team, will visit Dhahran in Saudi Arabiaโs Eastern Province on November 7 and 8.
The team will operate from Tamimi New Camp between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM (Saudi time), providing services such as issuance of new CNICs, renewals, and updates. This initiative allows Overseas Pakistanis in Dhahran and surrounding areas to access NADRA services conveniently.
In a separate development, NADRA has identified over 250,000 fake Pakistani Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs), most of which were obtained by Afghan nationals through illegal means. A specialized software designed to detect fraudulent CNICs revealed that many fake IDs were created by adding non-Pakistanis to the family trees of Pakistani citizens.
Authorities have started blocking these fraudulent CNICs and are instructing affected individuals to visit NADRA offices for verification. Those impacted must submit family tree documents to confirm their identity, after which legitimate CNICs will be reactivated.
NADRA has also simplified the CNIC application process for Pakistani citizens. Applicants can now apply online via the Pak ID website or mobile app, and their ID cards will be delivered to their doorstep by courier. This system reduces the need for repeated visits and long queues at registration centers.
Additionally, the Government of Pakistan has announced that citizens aged 18 and above can now obtain their first CNIC free of charge within 15 days.
NADRA has updated its CNIC renewal fees as well, charging Rs 400 for normal, Rs 1,150 for urgent, and Rs 2,150 for executive renewals during October. For more information or to apply online, citizens can visit www.nadra.gov.pk or contact the NADRA helpline at 1777.
This initiative underscores NADRAโs commitment to improving citizen services while combating fraudulent activities in the national database.
