The International Cricket Council (ICC) has banned Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf for two matches.
According to details surfaced on Tuesday, the ICC imposed the suspension for breaches of the code of conduct during the Asia Cup 2025. The disciplinary action comes after a review of Raufโs on-field behaviour, which was deemed to have violated the ICCโs player conduct regulations.
As a result, the fast bowler will not be available for Pakistanโs second One-Day International (ODI) match against South Africa on November 6, and will also miss the following fixture. The ICC confirmed that the decision was taken following an investigation and subsequent disciplinary hearing.
Rauf, known for his pace and aggression, has been a key member of Pakistanโs bowling attack in recent years. His absence is expected to be a major blow for Pakistan in the ongoing series, particularly given the importance of maintaining early momentum against a strong South African batting lineup.
In a separate ruling, Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has been fined 30 per cent of his match fee for violating Article 2.21 of the ICC Code of Conduct. The article relates to actions that bring the game into disrepute, including inappropriate or excessive celebrations and conduct contrary to the spirit of the game.
The ICC reiterated its commitment to upholding fair play standards and maintaining discipline across all formats of international cricket. Players, team officials, and support staff have been reminded that strict adherence to the code of conduct is essential for preserving the integrity of the sport.
The bans and fines reflect the ICCโs broader effort to ensure accountability and reinforce respect among players competing at the highest level of international cricket.
