Milind Kumar, the Delhi-born cricketer now representing the United States, delivered a record-breaking performance against the UAE at the ICC Academy. His unbeaten 137, alongside Saiteja Mukkamalla’s 123 not out, powered USA to an imposing total of 292 for 3. The duo’s incredible 264-run partnership for the fourth wicket is now the second-highest in ODI history.
Milind Kumar’s Historic Milestone
Milind’s spectacular knock not only secured a convincing victory for the USA but also etched his name in the record books. With an ODI average of 67.73 from 22 matches, he now holds the highest average among players with over 1,000 runs, surpassing Netherlands’ star Ryan ten Doeschate, who averaged 67.00. His consistency and calm under pressure have made him a key figure in America’s fast-rising cricket scene.
From Delhi’s Maidans to American Glory
Born on February 15, 1991, in Delhi, Milind Kumar began his cricket journey in India, where he built a strong domestic career. A right-handed middle-order batter, he represented Delhi, Sikkim, and Tripura in the Ranji Trophy and featured in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Milind made his First-Class debut in 2011, scoring a century and earning the Player of the Match award in his maiden appearance. After moving to the USA in 2021, he became eligible for the national team and made his T20I debut against Canada in April 2024.
Beyond international cricket, Milind also shines in Major League Cricket (MLC), where his skill and experience continue to inspire a new generation of American cricketers. His journey from India’s domestic circuit to rewriting ODI history for the USA is a remarkable story of talent, perseverance, and global ambition.
