The Deputy Director of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), who was leading an investigation into a case involving popular YouTuber and TikToker Ducky Bhai, has been missing for ten days, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) was informed on Friday.
During the hearing, DSP Legal revealed that the missing officer, identified as Usman, was heading the probe into allegations that Ducky Bhai was involved in promoting online gambling applications. The officer’s disappearance, along with the absence of other members of the same investigative team, has raised serious concerns about the safety of officials working on sensitive cybercrime cases.
Justice Azam Khan, presiding over the case, directed the police to analyze the officer’s WhatsApp communication data and submit a progress report. The court granted authorities one more week to trace and recover the missing official and set the next hearing for October 31.
Officer’s Wife and Children Also Missing; Threats Reported Before Disappearance
In a startling development, the court was also informed that Usman’s wife, Rozina, who had filed a petition in the IHC seeking her husband’s recovery, has also gone missing. Advocate Rizwan Abbasi, representing the family, told the bench that Rozina disappeared shortly after filing the petition, adding that she had received a threatening phone call warning her to withdraw the case.
According to DSP Legal, a team led by the SSP Investigation is currently pursuing multiple leads. Preliminary findings showed that the officer’s last known location was traced to Islamabad’s F-6 sector, but CCTV footage from the area yielded no substantial clues. Meanwhile, Rozina’s last location was detected near Empress Road, Lahore, before her phone was switched off. When police visited the couple’s residence, neighbors reported the house locked, and the couple’s children were also missing.
Justice Azam Khan remarked that Rozina might be staying with relatives, though her lawyer expressed doubt that she left willingly. The court ordered police to accelerate efforts to locate the missing officer and his family and to submit a comprehensive report at the next hearing.
