New Re-Marking System Aims to Improve Transparency
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has announced a major change in its paper rechecking process. Instead of the traditional rechecking, where only counting mistakes or unmarked questions were reviewed, the board is shifting to a full re-marking system. This new method will allow a more detailed evaluation of the students’ answer sheets.
Controller of Examinations, Tausif ur Rehman, stated that this decision is part of an effort to bring greater fairness and transparency to the examination system. He mentioned that the move is being made under the guidance of the provincial education minister. Once approved by the provincial cabinet, the new system will officially be implemented.
Currently, during rechecking, examiners are limited to verifying the total marks and checking for any questions that were left unmarked. However, many students have long complained that their answers were not properly assessed. The upcoming re-marking system will allow for a complete re-evaluation of each answer, providing students with a fair chance to have their papers reviewed accurately.
Result Cards for Intermediate Part-I Now Available Online
Alongside this major announcement, Tausif ur Rehman also revealed that result cards for Intermediate Part-I students have now been uploaded to the BISE Lahore website. All students can easily download their result cards online. These downloadable cards are officially valid and can be used for admission to colleges and other educational institutions.
The board has emphasized its commitment to using technology to simplify processes and make educational services more accessible to students. This online availability of results is part of a broader strategy to digitize BISE operations.
With the re-marking system and digital initiatives, BISE Lahore is aiming to improve trust in the examination process and ensure that students are treated with fairness and respect.
