Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) Dr Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa arrived in Pakistan on Sunday for a six-day official visit aimed at promoting religious harmony and strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guest upon his arrival at Islamabad International Airport. Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al Malki and Federal Secretary for Religious Affairs Dr Atta-ur-Rehman were also present on the occasion, underscoring the importance of this high-profile visit.
Prominent figures including Senator Hafiz Abdul Karim, Senator Talha Mahmood, Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, and MWL Country Head Saad Masood Al Harthi were also in attendance to greet Dr Al-Issa, reflecting Pakistanโs strong commitment to enhancing ties with the Muslim World League.
During his six-day stay, Dr Al-Issa is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with senior government officials, religious scholars, and interfaith leaders. The discussions will focus on fostering mutual understanding, promoting moderation in religious discourse, and strengthening cooperation across the Muslim world.
His engagements will also highlight the role of faith-based diplomacy in countering extremism, encouraging tolerance, and advancing peace both regionally and globally.
The visit of Dr Al-Issa, a globally recognized advocate of interfaith harmony and Secretary General of one of the most influential Islamic organizations, comes at a time when unity and dialogue among Muslim nations are of growing importance.
It signifies Pakistanโs close coordination with the MWL and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in advancing shared objectives of global peace, social cohesion, and religious cooperation.
