Police Suspect Targeted Attack as Forensic Teams Launch Investigation
Two people were shot dead late Tuesday night outside Loafology bakery in Islamabad’s Blue Area, opposite the Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) Tower. According to initial police reports, both victims were struck multiple times, including in the head, and died instantly at the scene.
Soon after the incident, police units and the Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) team arrived and cordoned off the area. Forensic experts immediately began collecting evidence from the crime scene to determine the nature and motive of the shooting.
Officials confirmed that the attack did not appear to be a robbery attempt. Instead, investigators believe it may have been a targeted killing. Law enforcement agencies are reviewing nearby CCTV footage to identify the attackers and trace their possible escape route.

A heavy police presence was maintained in the area following the shooting, and traffic was briefly diverted to facilitate forensic procedures. Witnesses told police that unidentified assailants opened fire suddenly before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.
Authorities have yet to release the identities of the victims, but officials confirmed that their bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for autopsy. Senior police officers, including representatives from the Islamabad Capital Police, have also reached the spot to oversee the investigation.
Police sources said that all available resources were being utilized to apprehend the suspects. They also assured the public that security across the capital had been tightened following the incident to prevent further attacks.
The tragic event has once again raised concerns about the growing number of targeted shootings in Islamabad’s high-security zones.
