Players of the Australia A cricket team fell ill after eating poor-quality food at a hotel in India.
According to Indian media, the Australia A cricket team was on a tour of India. After their match against India A last week, several Australian players became ill after eating food from a hotel in Kanpur.
The players reportedly suffered severe food poisoning, with fast bowler Henry Thornton hospitalized for two days. Three other Australia A players also fell ill.
Following the incident, the Australia A team management and players lodged a complaint about the poor-quality food served at the hotel.
This incident has raised questions about the quality of food and accommodation provided to the players.
Meanwhile, during the World Cup’s opening match, empty seats in the stadium mocked the Indian Cricket Board.
On the other hand, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla denied that the food at the hotel was the cause of the food poisoning. He stated that if the food had been bad, players from both teams would have fallen ill.
It is noteworthy that under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, India A defeated Australia A by two wickets in the third and final ODI at Kanpur’s Green Park Stadium on Sunday, winning the three-match series 1–2.
