McLaren secured their second consecutive Constructors’ Championship at the McLaren Singapore Grand Prix 2025, but celebrations were overshadowed by a dramatic clash between teammates Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.
On the first lap, Norris collided with Piastri after touching Max Verstappen’s car, forcing Piastri off-track and taking the lead.
Piastri, frustrated by the team’s inaction, cut off his radio mid-conversation with team principal Zak Brown. The tension continued post-race, as Piastri was absent from the podium celebrations, watching from the media pen instead—a move sparking debate over McLaren’s team decisions.
On track, George Russell won for Mercedes, Verstappen finished second, Norris third, and Piastri fourth. The incident cut Piastri’s championship lead to just 22 points, adding pressure for the final races.
The McLaren Singapore Grand Prix 2025 highlighted both McLaren’s success and internal controversy, setting up a tense end to the season.
