Tribesmen retaliate after militants harass women, refuse to vacate area
At least four militants linked to the Indian-backed group Fitna Al Hindustan were killed and two others injured in a violent clash with local tribesmen in the Korki region of Balochistan, sources confirmed on Sunday.
The confrontation erupted when the militants refused to leave the area, despite multiple appeals from local elders and residents of Killi Adamzai. The situation escalated after the militants began harassing women, violating deeply rooted tribal and religious norms.
Local sources said that tribal elders and women had pleaded with the group to withdraw peacefully, even invoking the Holy Quran in their appeals. However, the militants ignored the requests and continued to provoke the community.
When tensions peaked, tribesmen took up arms in self-defence, leading to a deadly confrontation that also claimed the life of one tribesman, while two others were injured.
Locals condemn terrorism, vow to protect tribal values and traditions
Following the incident, tribal leaders strongly condemned the actions of the militant group, warning that their land will never be allowed to serve as a base for terrorism.
“This group has shown its true face,” said one elder. “Their actions — especially the harassment of women and disregard for Islamic and Baloch values — prove they have no connection to religion or our traditions.”
Locals have accused Fitna Al Hindustan of being a foreign proxy operating under the guise of ideology, with the goal of destabilising the region and damaging Baloch culture.
In response, security in the region has been tightened, and community members are now patrolling the area to prevent any future militant infiltration. The government has yet to issue an official statement, but tribal unity against the group remains strong.
