Mystery spinner begins a new chapter ahead of South Africa Test series
Pakistan’s mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed has officially tied the knot, beginning a new and joyful chapter in his life just days before joining the national squad for the upcoming Test series against South Africa.
The 27-year-old cricketer’s wedding festivities kicked off with a vibrant mehndi ceremony on Thursday night. Dressed in a traditional green shalwar kameez, Abrar was seen celebrating with close friends and family. Videos and photos from the event quickly made their way across social media.
According to reports, Abrar’s nikah had already taken place earlier, and he is bringing his bride home today in a private ceremony attended by close relatives.
The valima reception is scheduled for October 6 in Karachi, where teammates, family, and fellow cricketers are expected to attend.
Family-arranged match, career momentum continues
Sources confirm that the marriage was arranged with full family consent, and both families reached the agreement through mutual understanding.
Abrar, who made headlines with his impressive debut against England in 2022, continues to be a rising star in Pakistan’s red-ball cricket. He first appeared in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) with Karachi Kings in 2017 and later earned widespread recognition for his match-winning performances in the longer format.
Following his wedding celebrations, the spinner is expected to rejoin Pakistan’s Test squad to prepare for the much-anticipated series against South Africa, as selectors continue to count on his mystery spin and wicket-taking abilities.
